Reilly Jones
President
Year: Graduate
Major: Accounting (MSA - Financial Reporting)
San Diego 2023 Deloitte Audit Intern
Reilly is in his second year in the Masters of Accountancy (Financial Reporting) program at San Diego State University and is originally from Northern California. Before pursuing an undergraduate degree, he worked in the automotive industry for Toyota and Lexus, but eventually developed a strong interest in science. He received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and prior to matriculating at SDSU, worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a quality control chemist.
Reilly decided to pursue a career in public accounting, specifically audit/assurance, because he likes the idea of solving problems for companies from multiple different industries, but is most interested in working on engagements related to the life-science industry. He has accepted an audit internship with Deloitte San Diego for Summer 2023 and plans to join the firm after graduation.
Reilly Joined Beta Alpha Psi in Spring 2022, served as the President-Elect during the Fall 2022 semester, and will be the President for Spring 2023. He looks forward to joining the other Beta Alpha Psi officers in creating a welcoming culture, providing excellent resources, and supporting members through the recruiting process.
In his free time, Reilly likes to work out, play the drums, snowboard, read, cook, travel, and hang out with his friends.
Evan Heidel
President Elect
Year: Junior
Major: Accounting
San Diego 2023 Deloitte Tax Intern
Evan Heidel is a third-year undergraduate accounting student at San Diego State University. He is originally from Orange County, CA and had lived there his whole life prior to coming to State.
Last year, with help from a variety of resources, he was able to recruit for an internship with the Deloitte San Diego tax office. He wants to give back the support that he received because he knows just how overwhelming the recruiting process can seem. He looks forward to helping others go through the process.
In his free time Evan likes to travel with girlfriend, hangout with his friends, and go to Padres games.
Kyle Mclaughlin
Treasurer
Year: Senior
Major: Finance
San Francisco 2022 EY Enterprise Risk Consulting Intern
Kyle is a senior and Business Finance major at San Diego State University. Kyle was born in Granite Bay, CA. Throughout highschool, he played soccer, and golf, and worked at In-N-Out Burger. He is now proud to serve as BAP's Treasurer for the Spring 2023 semester.
Kyle joined Beta Alpha Psi in the Fall of 2021 semester. Kyle gained very knowledgeable information and support from his mentor and many other officers on the Fall 2021 board. Over the summer, Kyle completed an internship with EY in San Francisco and will join EY full-time following graduation in May 2023. In Fall 2022, he served as a mentor to help new members navigate BAP and to continue BAP's "Pay it forward" culture. Kyle's goal as Treasurer this semester is to help shape the future of BAP's long-term financial strategy.
Outside the classroom, Kyle enjoys snowboarding, golfing, spending time outdoors, and going on adventures with friends.
Rianna Nguyen
VP of Reporting
Year: Junior
Major: MIS
Rianna is a 3rd Year Undergraduate Student at San Diego State University. She is majoring in Management Information Systems and minoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with the Weber Honors College. She was born and raised in Orange County, CA and plans to pursue a career there.
In Fall 2022, Rianna joined Beta Alpha Psi and successfully completed the recruitment process through the exceptional resources and guidance provided by the BAP F22 Executive Board. She is incredibly grateful for the mentorships and opportunities presented from this organization. She is excited to serve as the SP23 Vice President of Reporting and help maintain BAP’s internal organization and operations.
You can probably find Rianna sipping on an Iced Philtered Soul Latte from Philz Coffee or attending a Pilates or Yoga Class at the SDSU ARC.
Cariza Carrete
VP of Communications

Major: Accounting
San Diego 2023 EY Intern
Cariza is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Accounting at San Diego State University. Cariza has been guided by Beta Alpha Psi through recruitment and has accepted an internship with EY San Diego for Summer 2023.
Cariza has been a Beta Alpha Psi member since Fall of 2022. She was quickly welcomed which made her want to get more involved by becoming a Director. Now as VP, she is passionate on giving back by helping guide others through the recruitment process, welcoming new members while leading others, and answering questions along the way.
Outside of studying, you can find Cariza exploring new coffee shops, running her small business, or spending time with her boyfriend and family.
Sophia Stifano
VP of Internal Audit

Major: Accounting
Sophia is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Accounting at San Diego State University. Sophia grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and moved to San Diego when she was 14. Sophia will be recruiting for a Summer 2024 internship during the current semester. She plans on utilizing the vast resources and opportunities Beta Alpha Psi offers to obtain an internship in audit.
Sophia joined Beta Alpha Psi at the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester. She quickly felt welcomed and valued in the organization. Beta Alpha Psi gave her an abundant amount of valuable information and resources to aid in her entrance into the accounting world. Sophia joined the executive board because of her passion for helping others and desire to lead the future members of Beta Alpha Psi. She is excited to be part of an amazing team of leaders and positively impact the organization.
During her free time she likes to go to the beach with friends, try out new food spots, and learn new hobbies such as embroidery!
Kelsi Spencer
VP of Digital Marketing

Major: Accounting
Kelsi is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Accounting and minoring in Spanish at San Diego State University. Kelsi grew up in Reno, NV, and is a first generation college student. Kelsi is going to be going through the recruitment process this semester to hopefully secure an internship for Summer 2024. With the help of the many resources that Beta Alpha Psi has to offer, she hopes to obtain an internship in audit.
Kelsi joined Beta Alpha Psi during the Fall 2022 semester, and felt so welcomed by everyone in the organization. Beta Alpha Psi has provided her with so many connections, resources, and networking opportunities that definitely help with the transition from being a full-time student to a full-time career. Kelsi joined the executive board to get more involved in this amazing organization with a great team.
When Kelsi isn't working or doing schoolwork, she loves to hangout with friends, go to the beach, and try new restaurants.
Luis Carrillo
VP of Professional Development

Major: Accounting
San Diego 2023 Deloitte Discovery Tax Intern
Luis is a transfer student at SDSU. He is originally from Imperial Valley, CA, a small border town southeast of San Diego--which is a desert that either gets really hot or cold, no in between (sadly). He is a first generation college student that is new to the San Diego area that is willing to put in the work, especially coming from where he is from he is ready to commit himself here at Beta Alpha Psi. For well over 19 years, he lived in Mexico, crossed the Mexican border everyday, and did a 40 minute drive in order to attend Elementary, Junior high, and High School.
Luis’ major is Business Administration Accounting and his goals here at BAP is to continue to grow his network and make his presence known to the professional firms here in the United States and to also help his fellow BAP members to achieve any personal, academic, and professional goals possible in any way, shape, or form that he can. He is excited about what the future holds for him and his fellow BAPers.
During his free time he likes to play video games, watch soccer and pro wrestling, and enjoys driving to new places he has never been before.
Suleman Mahabat
VP of Social Events
Year: Junior
Major: Accounting
Suleman is currently a third-year accounting student at San Diego State University. Although originating from Afghanistan, Suleman has spent a lot of his early years in Pakistan and moved to the United States 12 years ago. He is looking forward to getting to know the firms prior to recruiting, using the support and resources that are provided by Beta Alpha Psi.
Suleman joined Beta Alpha Psi in the Spring of 2022 in order to learn more about the available resources, connect with firms, and gain exposure to the professional world. Suleman was a Planning and Engagement Committee Member during his first semester at BAP, and is excited to serve as VP of Social Events in the Spring of 2023. Suleman is looking forward to further developing his networking skills, becoming more involved, and serving the BAP community.
During his free time he likes to work out, play video games, listen to music and watch professional fighting matches.
Alde Nguyen
VP of Formal Events
Alde Nguyen is the VP of Formal Events for Beta Alpha Psi Beta Eta Chapter at San Diego State University during the spring 2023 semester; responsible for coordinating seamless experiences for social events such as Meet The Firms and the End of Semester Banquet. He is currently a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Finance and will be interning with Ernst & Young's Financial Services Organization as a business consultant in the San Francisco corporate office during the summer. In his spare time, he is the founder of an early-stage web 3 start-up specializing in leveraging innovative fronts and P2P use-cases within crypto-assets e.g. NFTs. He truly looks forward to cultivating a memorable semester for our honor-society and all its members, meanwhile helping those recruit and land their dream internships. Let's do the limitless."
David Solomon
VP of Career Readiness
David is a third year undergraduate student majoring in Accounting at San Diego State University. Before going to San Diego State he went to community college in Santa Clarita. At first he planned to study culinary before finding a love for accounting. David has accepted an internship for Summer 2023 at Moss Adams.
He joined Beta Alpha Psi in Fall 2022 as a way to make friends since he was a transfer student. Being in a new environment was scary to him and he wanted to connect with people who had the same interests as him. David then realized all the resources Beta Alpha Psi had to offer and started to recruit for an internship. He doesn't think he would have got the offers he did without the help of Beta Alpha Psi. After being a part of Beta Alpha Psi, David wants to help and give back to the community, and that is why he joined the officer board.
In his free time, if I am not in his apartment or library studying, he is probably at the gym working out or playing video games.
Jordan Riedel
VP of Membership
Jordan is a third-year accounting student from Orange County, CA. He recently worked at a bank over the summer in the finance and accounting department, and plans on pursuing a career in public accounting, and obtaining his CPA license after graduation.
He first joined Beta Alpha Psi in the Fall of 2021 and was able to meet many accounting professionals and other accounting students. He also had the opportunity of being the Director of Professional Development in the Spring of 2022.
In his free time, he likes to watch TV shows, and play video games with his friends.
Jaylee Nguyen
VP of Volunteer Events
Year: Senior
Major: MIS
Jaylee is a transfer student at SDSU and she is originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She is a first generation college student that is new to the San Diego area. She really enjoys living here and looking for opportunities to continue to stay in the area after grad.
Jaylee’ major is Management Information Systems and she is looking forward to connecting with other professionals in the community and contributing her knowledge to help Bapies to succeed.
During her free time she likes to hangout with friends, going to coffee shops to do some readings and enjoys exploring new places.
